Jonathan Ley Maps

I am looking for some Jonathan Ley Maps that have already been printed out. I don’t have a printer myself, and the only copy shop in town charges $1.35 per color print! I relieze printing all the maps is costly, so if anyone can help me out with a better deal please send me an email. I figure there has to be some hikers out there that printed out the maps and never used them…or used them and kept them…THANKS!!

If you SoBo, you might want to wait to see if any of the Nobos wash out. I bought my Ley maps from a Nobo that ended his hike after three days.

Printing them on your own inkjet printer is another option. I started doing that until someone posted their maps on trailforums. I think Epson offers waterproof ink. Buy your OEM ink on Ebay to cut down on cost, but not time. It takes forever.

Just some ideas…

You can get an inkjet printer for $30-40 (not a great one, but good enough). Extra ink will cost you another $20 or so online (plus about that much for paper). When you’re done, you can just give the printer to someone if you want.

If you have any need for a printer longer-term, I’d suggest getting a color laser printer. These will come with enough toner to print the whole set & more, and the results will be better… and at the end of it, you’ll have a good printer.

Another option? Find a regular person locally who might want a color laser printer, and “subsidize” the purchase if you can use it first to print the maps…
