July 1st - too early for Durango>Silverton trek?

I realize that early hiking season travel is difficult to predict…but I’d be interested to know what others might say about an early start to the southern section of the trail. Any thoughts?

It might be feasible this year. It has been dry in that area this winter/spring. Of course, it could all change with a single heavy storm.

Sounds like you could do Durango - Silverton now.
