Does anyone know if Kennedy Meadows General Store is accepting maildrops this year? If so, should I call ahead to let them know I will be sending a package?

They held them last year when I hiked the trail. They also mailed from their store (though I think it was one day a week). If you have Yogi’s book, it will have the current contact info.

Anyone who is sending boxes to KM, I recommend:
- knowing exactly how many boxes you have there
- making your box easy to find (colored marker/paper)for easy identification.
The folks there are really nice to us hikers, but their system isn’t ideal. They have a TON of boxes in their backroom and things get mixed up. My buddy and I had 6 boxes and they said they couldn’t find any of them. They were all back there, afrer some looking

I called the folks at the store and yes they do take packages. I don’t have my paperwork with their NEW address on it, but when I reach Aqua Dulce it is in my pushbox, so I’ll post it later. They now have an address at the store; it’s no longer to a PO Box.

PO Box 3-A5 is still their PO box address and it’s ok to send packages there. The store address is 1445 Kennedy Meadows Road Inyokern, CA 93527. This is their recent address change, for approx. thelast 8 months. Either one is fine.
