Has anybody been up on Kenosha Pass yet this year? With the low snow levels, we’d like to get on the trail sooner rather than later. Anybody have any info on it or know where I can find it?

Hi Nancy,
I’ve been told that the first 5 segments of the Colorado Trail are relatively dry from Waterton Canyon to Kenosha Pass. I have hiked the first three segments already, and they are dry. The stretch through the trees on the west side of Georgia Pass may still be problematic for post-holing through snow at this time.
If you have Google Earth, here is a link to a neat 3d model from NOAA - National Snow Analyses 3D Interface www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/earth/ that was posted elsewhere on this forum.
Happy Hiking!
