Would it be a good idea to bring an elastic knee brace on my AT thru hike?

If you have any knee problems in the past I would definitely bring a knee brace. You don’t need to wear it all the time, only when there is some pain.

Like my American Express Card, “I never leave home without it”.

I always carry a Cho-Pat knee brace and put it on with the first twinge of discomfort on downhills. Also use trekking poles. I’ve had very painful knees in the past and this has kept me walking almost pain free. But everyone’s knees are different and may need different care.
