I’ll be leaving from Campo the morning of May12th. Hopefully by leaving late I’ll be able to avoid a lot of zeroes before Kennedy Meadows and still catch up with the main pack of hikers. Look forward to seeing you out there.

I don’t understand the idea of stopping northbound at Kennedy Meadows. There’s nothing there except a store - and Grumpy Bear’s bar, currently involved in resolution of an on-site shooting disagreement involving owner’s investment decisions, and loss of liquor license due to a life is indeed harder when you’re stupid episode with state liquor authorities.

I’d press on to Trail Pass (if the PCT is impassable, descend and proceed through Monache, Templeton, and Ramshaw Meadows) then down to Horseshoe Meadow and Lone Pine. Yeh, it’s 25 miles from the trailhead to town, but getting a ride (both ways) is very easy - and since there are not road options, anyone vehicle leaving Horseshow will end up near LP.

What Booger says is totaly correct about going that exta 45 miles but we have hashed this over on this site many times…so either K/M or T/P is your call

I understand what booger is saying about the Trail Pass alternate, but can anyone decipher the second sentence of the first paragraph?
