Yep, I used it on the jmt this last september with no shelter. Always comfortable. and it’s called the “ultralight”!

Two thumbs up from me as well. I’ve used the same WM Ultralight bag since 2005 - lots of backpacking including thru-hikes of AT & PCT - and it still looks like new. It’s pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for.

I use the GoLite Ultra 20 quilt. The long weighs in at 1lb 5oz. I did the JMT last year with it and had no complaints. I’ll be back on the JMT this year and plan to use it again.

hey don, i read your trail journal, good stuff, and very insightful. you where a lucky dog to have Lucky Dog to hike with. Farsang, no shelter on the JMT in Sept? what was theplan if you got bad weather? What do you all think about tbe sublite tent? Is the JMT anything like northern Yosemite? From what Igather its all day for 1 pass insted of many 1000 to1500 foot climbs in one day? im on my phone so excuse my grammer. :nerd

no doubt the w.m.firm has an american made bag that is simply a quality product…true to degree…I have used the 30 deg. ultralight for the past 4 years section hiking with a bag liner down to 18 deg…wear your base layer and socks to save weight…the 20 deg. would also be a good choice, that one is on my wish list…depends how you sleep, cold or warm…i sleep warm
