Can’t speak for the CT but it’s probably the same for when we were in the Cirque of Towers in the Wind River Range, Wyoming. In Lizzard Head Meadows an afternoon store, very small, came over the ridge right at us. In less than 60seconds we were IN hot lightning hitting all around us. Bramble looked like a made cow. I thought is was cool. Ya know, lighting up close sounds nothing like a mile over head. It like siting between the in pins in a bowling lane. Get on your pack and watch the weather. Afternoons are prime for pop ups that really do pop up. Kind of like Thunder Storm Alley in the Whites.
