I find headlamps work better durring late fall hiking when shorter days lead to more time in the sack. In springtime hiking a simple penny size push to light one works well.

Photon with an on-off switch is lightest…and that’s the bottom line! You can stick it to your hat brim with velcro. I don’t bother with that, though. I hold mine in my mouth or hang it from the top of my tent.
