I was wondering if any LT vets could suggest some dead cert mail drops along the trail. I’m trying to put together a list but I find it tricky, without actually being there. Thanks in advance.

The Store in Jonesville has closed for good unfortunately, so it’s probably a good idea to send a drop here, since the PO is yards off the trail. If you decided to go the 3 miles into Richmond, there is a market there, with enough to get you to Johnson.
IMO, I wouldn’t send drops to Manchester or Johnson becuz they have huge supermarkets. In fact, in Manchester its a lot more of a pain in the butt to get to the PO than it is to go to the grocery, which is located right next to an outfitter, restraunts and movie theater.

In the northern section we used Johnson, Jonesville and Bristol (all POs). There’s a great natural food store called Roos in Johnson, don’t miss it. Bristol was a bit of a haul, but it worked. I didn’t know what else to do in that stretch between Jonesville and Sherburne Pass. It is better accessed via Lincoln Gap - we went in and out from App Gap but the locals in town were more inclined to be heading to Lincoln when they left town. Who knew?

Question about Hancock Mail Drop. Just want to be clear. So you came out of the woods at Middlebury Gap onto Rt. 125. Got a ride to Hancock PO. Resupplied and got a ride back to the trail head?
