Looking for 3 day section of So Cal PCT

Hi,

I’m interested in finding a short section of the Southern California PCT (perhaps even a little further north) to do in about 3 days. I would be flying in from Seattle. I’d like to find a nice section for this November that’s not too high in elevation but still a beauty. I’ve day hiked plenty but I’m a novice backpacker. I would appreciate any ideas, thanks.

Depends on snow level. How about Kennedy Meadows to Trail Pass? If no snow, Horseshoe Meadow Road may still be open to bail out into Lone Pine. Otherwise do an out and in.

Is the section east of Idyllwild still closed? That would make a nice 35-40 miles from Pines-to-Palms to the road at Deer Springs that you could do based from Idyllwild, IF that section is open again.

If not, a nice LONG 3 days goes mostly downhill from Onyx Summit to Mojave Forks Dam. Another nice section is from the highway above Wrightwood to one of several highway crossings further down. Definitely stop before the Station Fire detour though.

All of those ideas vary from 5000’-9000’.
