Depending on the snowpack in Segment 6 over the divide I am planning on starting on the 28-29th of June. 10-12 miles is about my pace, though I am going all the way to Durango, hopefully. Male, 43, 3rd time on trail.

Hi Stephen,
I am going home to Fiji in middle of July for 2 1/2 weeks and would love to do the trail before hand.I understand it all depends on the winter we will have.Currently my plan is to start in Denver and finish at Twin Lakes or at Mt. Princeton Hot springs.I would love to get more trail information and tips on a successful hike. I am in Grand Junction, CO.

Hey Arti and Stephen! I have been thinking about hiking the CT for the past couple years and this is year the dream is coming true. Today, I received my CT guide and databook and I am very excited about this hiking. I dont have much experience on hiking. I have only done 50 miles of hiking on the AT in Georgia. I’ve been looking for hiking partners, but living in Dallas,Tx turns things a little bit more difficult. I would love to be part of your guys journey.I am male 36 and in good endurance shape.

Arti, look up pmags. He is a veteran hiker with an awesome end to end guide on the CT, as well as great tips.

There are some places you might need to call ahead to verify addresses and such if you are mailing drops. I might suggest starting heavy (7-8 days of food) and hitting Breck for your first resupply (104 mi.) Or hitching to Jefferson for a burger and a small resupply of Mac and cheese from Kenosha (71.5mi) For the 200 miles, I’d do Breck, leadville then stop at Princeton at 230 miles.

Hi! I am planning a July 6 start at segment 8 and would like to hike with a buddy. I am planning on being at 10-15 mi a day by then but could be a little more or less depending. Planning the 1-8 end of June. I will be having supply drops and car support throughout trail as I am a coloradoan and have guilted my friends and fam into helping. Maybe we can coordinate some coexisting on the trail in exchange for rides

I read his guide and it has been on of the most informational stuff out there.
Going heavy on the food sounds good and I think I will start that way.
I will mail my first drop to Breck.
Still working on the start date.
Whitney, we will stay in touch.
Hugo, do you have a start date?

Thanks,
Arti
