I’m a Girl Scout leader who was in the Damascus area on Saturday, Sept 22 to bike the Creeper Trail with my troop of HS Juniors. While on the Creeper, we met a SB Hiker who started in WV about a month ago and he was kind enough to stop for a moment to talk with our girls and take a photo with them. It made a HUGE impression on the girls to meet him and share some of their snacks with him before he disappeared back into the woods. Now, after meeting someone on and learning about the AT, several of the girls are talking about hiking the trail someday. Wanted to thank the young man, a software developer, whose name was “Gaelic” or “Gaylord” maybe? Feel sure he is in North Carolina this week. If you know him and see him, please pass along the message. I’m not sure of his name but if he is posting, we would love to follow him as he continues SB.
