Looking for help in Tucson?

Again this year my wife and i are offering to help as we’re able to thru-hikers needing to stop in Tucson. With our work schedules, we can’t guarantee we can pick you up from the trail at any exact time, but i’ll try my best. In town we can get you to groceries, post office, laundry, outfitters, etc. and while all we’ve got to sleep on is a fold out sofa, it works ok. We’re happy to have anybody for a couple nights.

It’s less likely i can take anyone to the Mexico border…that’s a bigger trip, but you can always ask and maybe i can work it out.

I’m at markvotapek “at” netscape “dot” net .

Wow you guys are great, but careful, I might take you up on your offer. Do you have the space/ ability to have a parked car full of gear @ your place? I am trying to sort out a car support situation for my gear etc for a poss. thru-hike… Just curious. p.s. what has the winter been like so far?? Thanks.

Hm. I think officially we are supposed to have two parking spots, but we only have one car. I’ll check on that.

The winter started hopeful with some good early snow in December, but it’s been fairly dry and warm since then. I haven’t gotten up in the Catalinas or Rincons in since mid-December, but no snow is visible from town. My guess would be that at this point there is significant snow only above about 7000’ or maybe even higher. You might google “summerhaven tucson” and see if one of the businesses up there can give you snow info.

Stephan, we can keep your car parked at our complex. When would you be leaving it here? Email me when you want.

Mark, As of now , I think I have sorted things with an old friend in aravapai cnyn. He will be helping me out and letting me park @ his place for…? however long it takes I reckon. Thank you ,Thank you , Thank you so much for your offer, so nice of you and I hope to maybe meet you along the way somewhere. You are so gracious, Thanks again. I think there was someone else in a similar sit. to mine on these posts. Chris, I think. Maybe he will look you up?
