I am a 60 year retired guy who has a desire to thru hike the AT for 2014. I am an avid hiker and hike with a group every Wednesday and Saturday in the mountains of western NC. I was diagnosed with younger onset Alzheimer's 2 1/2 years ago forcing my early retirement but remain independent at this time. Greetings, I have been planning this hike since 2005. Each time I have set a date I have had to postpone. However with that said, This year seems to be the year if all goes as planned. It all came about in the past week when I unexpectedly had an offer from an individual that is very interested in purchasing my Taxi Company. So, whit such short time to complete the details of both the sale of the business and finalizing my hike plans, there is so much to do in such a short time.
I really cant finish my planning until the deal is signed.
But, I can’t wait, I have to complete some planning as if I am going. With that said, the deal should be complete by the end of this week, hopefully by Jan 11, 2014.
I don’t have a partner to hike with and would like to search out a partner that would be compatible. So with that, I am seeking to start in March as early as possible. Idealy March 1 but it might be a week or so after that.
I would enjoy hearing back from you with any thoughts.
