It is now reported that the man and his wife had a scheme to deceivew the West Virgina Department of Human Resources, concerning custody of 2-3 children.

So his wife drops him off for a week in the Smokies, with only a pillow, sleeping bag and a few personal items. BUT, she dropped him off at the Chimney Tops Trail. This is a 2 mile trail, super high foot traffic, and miles and miles “all up” to the AT and shelters.
