Has anyone driven to where the AT crosses Mad Tom Notch Rd (USFS 21) in Vermont? I was asked to provide a shuttle from here but unsure about the condition of this road. I have a Honda Accord. What I’ve read so far sounds like the road is pretty rutted and rocky. Don’t want to take any chances of damage to my car.

You should be fine, just go slow the last mile or so. They were adding stone and grading the road this summer.

I’ve crossed the road several times on the AT/LT. The trail head is a popular trail magic spot and there have been cars parked there every time I’ve crossed. Seems like there must be some passable way through there.

The road is in great shape even for a normal passenger car all the way to the trail.
