Mail Drop Address

Hiking the CT will be my first time using mail drops. Will one of you guys confirm that this is the correct way to address a maildrop? Here is a Frisco example:

Michael Carroll
c/o General Delivery
35 W. Main St.
Frisco, CO 80443

I would add that you are a thru-hiker and give the date you expect to show up.

Some of the post offices are general stores, and they keep the thru-hiker boxes out so you can get them outside of post-office hours.

If you are stopping in Leadville, I’d recommend mailing to the Leadville, Hostel. You don’t have to stay there, although it is a nice place to stay. You can get a shower and do laundry even if you don’t stay.

Michael,
The following was taken from pmags web site:

“Joe Hiker
c/o General Delivery
Some Town, TN 55555
Please hold for AT hiker, ETA 7/23/12”

Change “AT” to “CT”, and you are in business!

Enjoy your hike!
