Mail Drops and Resupply

I another question for all the PCT thru hikers out there. Is it possible to resupply with out using any mail drops, or with a minimal amount of packages mailed by me from trail towns? You see I don’t really have any support staff in the US. When I hiked the AT there was no problem with this sort of approach. Can I use it on the PCT as well??

Thanks

For great advice on every topic important to a PCT thru-hiker, I recommend you get a copy of Yogi’s PCT Handbook. Her book details bear can requirements as well as several different resupply strategies. http://www.pcthandbook.com

Try http://www.pctplanner.com to get a sense of how far between resupply stops you can go. This is the web page I used. Buying as you go on the PCT is easy: Send a mail drop to Warner Springs before you go, send one from Agua Dulce to Kennedy Meadows before you go. Done. The rest you buy as you hike, including OR and WA, where most people send mail drops to from Ashland and Cascade Locks.
