Its on the map of the Medicine Bow National Forest, however, if you make it to the CO border, you don’t really need a map to follow the trail, its very clearly marked. All you do is keep following the trail along the Encampment river. At the northern end near Encampment, you’ll be a few miles (maybe or so) from town. You’ll come to a bridge and the trailhead parking lot. If you’re heading into town, this is where you’ll either need a ride, try to hitch (but good luck), or walk into the little town. There’s not a lot of traffic out that way, so if you can’t talk someone at the bridge to take you into town, you’ll have to walk. Also, if you plan on staying there overnight, you’ll want to keep on going out of town and head over to the little village of Riverside. There are places to camp there, along the North Platte river and there are a few small establishments selling beer and convenience store things. Truly, once you enter WY you just follow the trail along the river. You’ll be in a large open area called “Commisary Park”, you’ll hike through it and into the forest. If you need the map, call the Medicine Bow NF and maybe they can send you one.
