three days two nights, I will drive up from Monroe NY. We can place cars at either end and enjoy a little hike. This will complete Mass for me as well as NY,CT,NJ. Nice little section to start up again.

Drop me a line with the details. I still have MA and a large chunk of VT to finish. If i can fit it in my schedule I would like to go.

I think that late April/early May is pushing the season for hiking in the Berkshires. I would expect snow, and mud where there isn’t snow. I’d suggest that you either postpone the trip, or hike further south.

Peaks

Peaks is probably right…but I hiked that section last week of April '05. The temps were great for hiking & the mud tolerable. The best part was NO BUGS!!!

Some make a good point about the mud season and chilly temps at night, maybe late May is more like it. Any who, I will update as time draws near. Rob Bird, a shuttle from point A to point B would be great if needed. I will buy gas and coffee

Have him shuttle you. And take him up on the sleeping quarters if you need to. He’s a great guy and a pleasure to be in the company of. I had the pleasure of not only staying there two nights, but actually finishing my 2004 “thru-hike” at his hostel.

Rob, if you read this, sorry I haven’t replied to the recent e-mail. I’m awful at that stuff. I hope your holiday was fantastic.

First thankyou leki as a reference for the Bird It would be nice to get up there the night before get some sleep and get on the trail at a decent hour to start the first day of the lil journey. Otherwise I usually drive from here at 0430 find my starting point, park the car at trailhead and do my section and if the great spririt is with me my car will still be waiting at point B. We will talk more, thanks again.
