Good Windy snow storm yesterday in nothern, so set my Eureka Spirfire Tent up in back and tossed my down bag in with a cheap foam rubber matteress in yesteday morning..

Went to bed at 11 pm and got up at 6 am, slept pretty good even with blowing snow under rain fly and 4 inchs of snow on the ground.

Went out at 7 am to bring in tent and when I picked it up a very large pissed off field mouse was sitting in the grassy spot where the tent was. I guess I woke him up.

Once in a shelter, a mouse chewed through through a bag of gorp I accidentally left in the pocket of my backpack instead of hanging it with my foodbag. They sure know where to find food and shelter, don't they? I have a slide show of my AT hike on my myspace, and I have a picture of that very mouse as well as a picture of the backpack he chewed through. (To get a picture of the mouse, we placed a potato chip on the shelter floor. Then, in the darkness, when we heard the mouse nibbling, I pointed my camera at the sound, snapped the picture and caught the startled rodent in my flash.) You can see the pics on myspace.com/atdiva.
