Minimal Resupply Question

I’m hiking SOBO and I plan to do most of my resupplying along the trail, shipping ahead from trail towns to places with limited supplies. I’m using Yogi’s laminated data sheets for this info along the trail.

My question is in Washington as I start out hiking south where should I send my first couple boxes?

I plan to spend a couple days in the Seattle area before I set off and will pack a few boxes during those days leaving them with my sister to mail for me.

Send boxes to:

Stehekin, Skykomish (c/o the Dinsmore’s), Snoqualmie Pass (c/o the Chevron), and White Pass. You can pick up boxes 7 days a week all all these places except for Stehekin (PO closed on Sundays).

Consider North Bend WA which is west on I-90 off Snoqualmie Pass–it would be a hard hitch but we did the “Hey mister” approach and didn’t have a problem.

There is a Safeway, outfitter and outlets for all your shopping pleasure.

Hood River is 20 miles from Cascade Locks and is another full resupply with Safeway and a local grocery chain which has a good bulk food section, outfitters, Thai food trailers and AYCE. It is a little spread out but not bad. Beats Portland and offers the same hiker services. Shoes: Shortt Supply up in the “Heights” which will make sense if you ask a local and Doug’s Sports in downtown.

Below Timberline there is a convince store that you pick up two days of food to make it to Cascade Locks if your heading North. I’ve never understood the Timberline resupply personally.
