Maine game wardens are searching for several hikers who may have information concerning missing Appalachian Trail hiker Geraldine Anita Largay.
Largay, 66, uses the trail name “inchworm,” and game wardens are searching for hikers who use the following trail names: “Cowboy,” “Marathon,” “Postman,” “Breeze,” “Paranoid,” “Crunchmaster,” “Harpo/Groucho,” “Ice Pack/SOBO ’13,” “Luke 11:9,” “Sandman,” “BBTGR” and “.com/Queen.”
Her last sighted location was on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation on Sunday, July 21. She was planning to meet her husband, George, the following day in Wyman Township. She texted her husband at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, but never arrived at their meeting place.
Anyone with information regarding Largay or the unknown female hiker who called the Stratton Motel is asked to call Augusta Public Safety Dispatch at 1-800-452-4664.
