Montbell Bags - Pacific Crest Trail

Looking to reduce weight with my existing sleeping and wanted to get some feedback from anyone that has used a Montbell bag. Haven’t seen anything on backpackgeartest.org and they seem to compare well with Feathered Friends and Western Mountaineering bags in the ultra-light line of bags.

Also, I realize this is a personal choice, however, I am considering a 30 degree bag for my PCT hike next year. I have a silk liner that I plan to bring through the Sierras, but what are others using?

I haven’t used the Montbell bags but I have a jacket of theirs and the workmanship is first quality. As for what bag I will be using on the PCT next year…Western Mountaineering Ultralight with two ounce overstuff. Used it for the start and finsh of my Appalachian Trail hike and LOVED IT! Never was cold in it. My girlfriend is also purchasing this bag for the hike as well. Hopefully we will meet along the trail. Good luck!

I have the Mont-Bell main squeeze. its about 32 oz and is rated for i believe 30. Love the bag. my feet did get cold one time on the PCT when it got down to about 35 at night but i figured it was from not fluffing the bag so there wasn’t any of the fill at the foot of the bag. since then I make sure that the fill is spead evenly and have been warm ever since.
