Stream crossings, are they deep enough to warrant carrying alternate foot wear? I’d rather not hike in flooded boots.
Does any one know if there is public transportation out of Salida too the trail?

I am in the process of calling around to different towns about lodging info, I dont know about salida, but the guy who runs the hostel in Silverton said when I talked to him that SOMETIMES he will give people a ride to the trail head for 5-10 dollars a head. It is not guaranteed though.
