Mp3 oral recording

I am a 66 year old hiker planning to leave around April 1st. Still trying to get my journal resolved. Is there a mp3/iPod/hand held device that I can orally dictate my trail journal to and then upload that to a computer when available. Plan is to then have that message transcribed to trail journals. What equipment do you reccomend? Do you know a transcription service? Or, in the alternative, I would lilke to recruit a transcriber here. Thanks for any help or ideas.

I have a Creative Zen Nano Plus, it is a older mp3 player with a voice recorder and an FM radio. The new player is the MuVo V100 with up to 2GB of storage. My player is very easy to use the recorder. It only needs 1 AAA battery for about 14 - 16 hrs of use. As for a transcriber I bet if you ask in a new post someone will volunteer to transcribe for you. You could also just the info your self when you get to town / a computer.

Jack I leave Springer on April 5th and will be using the Creative Lab Zen Nano Plus 1 Gig for the exact purpose you memtioned. It records easliy ( up to 64 hours worth ) and you can download some killer music for the trail as well ( or books ). Presently I have over 200 songs and enough room left over for about 30 hours of note taking. I just got 20 AAA Lithium batteries to use on the trip. This MP3 player is very easy to use and weighs about 2 Oz total

I carried a digital voice recorder on my thru in 05. I got one with something like 16 hours of room on it for about $100. It was great, and I didn’t run out of space until up north. You can get them at about any electronics store.
