Anyone know what’s happened to Mudflap and Daisy? I’ve been following their hike but their journal hasn’t been updated since August.

I’m hiking SOBO and I ran into them just south of Hanover. I had met them early in the spring when I was doing a weekend hike in NC, and we had talked quite a bit then. We stopped to talk on the road in VT. They were doing well at that point.

Mudflap and Daisy - along with Daisy’s son “Sizzle” made it to Katadin and have just returned home! Their family is planning a party for them this Sunday so if you have any messages I’ll be happy to relay them.

I’m glad to hear they have finished and are ok. But I’m still mystified as to why their jounal entries stopped abruptly in August???

My understanding is that trying to keep up with typing journal entries just became too much for them. They tried to change formats and just do an update as they went through each state, but that obviously ended after Massachusettes. They were enjoying the connection with other hikers on the trail and in towns and that took up more and more of their time - leaving little time and energy for journaling. Also, they both got Lymes and that really took a lot out of them towards the last 1/3 of the hike. I have no idea if they plan on posting more or updating/finishing the journal or posting pictures. I’ll ask them this weekend.
