Name That Baby - Appalachian Trail

I stopped by Rainbow Slick and Goosebump the Snow Pricess’ home in Pa. on my way to Maine to do a flip. I just found out that Goosebump the Snow Princess is going to have a baby next March. They need some ideas on a good name for a future thru hiker. They don’t know if it’s going to be a boy or a girl yet, but sometimes that doesn’t matter with a trail name. I said they could name it “Rainbow Slipped”, but they didn’t like that one.

Hows about “Leki”? Or maybe “Privy”, that kinda has a nice ring to it. “PUD” would work too, how about “Stile”? Alright, enough from me…

“Puncheon” would just be asking for trouble…sorry

When Switchback was looking for baby names lots of people voted for a name where the initials would be AT - Anthony Thomas, Alexa Trailmagic, Allison Thelma, you get the idea

What about Imp or Carlo or Kincorra or Damascus!?

Morgan Stewart would be nice for a girl

Mashipacong?? Works for a girl or boy

How’s about 'Big Moose"? Especially if it’s a petite little thing. So as not to feel threatened…

Or Pemadumcook - as A-Train says, works for either sex.

How about a hiker’s name. Didn’t Adam or Eve do some tramping around the Garden? And wasn’t Elijah the guy who was in a cave on the mountain? Jesus and the disciples did some walking in Palestine so any of those names would meet the standard of a walker/hiker. Or, how about “Lil Hiker?” or “Walker?” Then, there is always a mountain name such as Springer for a girl or Katahdin for a boy or is it the other way around? Some Indian (Native American) names might be another way to go.

Glad I don’t have to decide.

Been a long time since sunday school, but Moses hiked in the desert for forty years…(if its a boy) and wasn’t his wife’s name Rachel??? (if it’s a girl) I bet she was a big hiker also.
