Need Help Clingman's Dome-Hot Springs NC

Hi all, I am looking for some help on the following questions related to a hike coming up in late November.

First off, looking for a shuttle that can pick myself up and another person in Hot Springs, NC and drive us to Clingman’s Dome early morning on Saturday, November 21st.

Second, looking for a very inexpensive place to stay in Hot Springs. We will arrive late on Friday November 20th and leave early Saturday, so we are not looking for much. Probably arriving around 10PM.

Item three, is there a good, safe place in Hot Springs to park a car for approximately 6 days while we hike, that is close to the trail?

Also, is there a place we can take a shower (so we don’t have to stink for the 5 hour drive home), somewhere in Hot Springs?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to add any additional thoughts as well.

Thanks,
HikerFun

I would stay at the hostel in Hot Springs right where the trail comes out of the woods. It’s also very safe leaving your car at that same trailhead. Would suggest calling Bear Farm Hostel for the shuttle since there in the middle of the section your hiking. Think the hostel in Hot Springs is the Laughing inn. Have a great hike.

Standing Bear Farm hostel is great place. I stayed there last week and they shuttled me to Fontana. It’s about three miles north of Davenport gap and a few hundred yards off the trail on that gravel road that crossses the trail in that neighborhood. Good folks. Take the time to visit with Lumpy, the caretaker
