I am considering hiking the CT from Mid August to Mid September and am wondering what navigation stuff I should bring. Do I need the Data Book, The Trail Guide, compass and the Trail Illustrated maps? Should I take more or less. How are the blazes along the way?

The databook and the maps & compass should suffice. The guidebook is nice for planning.

I suggest that you bring a hand held GPS if you are more familiar with East Coast trails such as the AT. I had some trouble in a few spots following the trail and I used the guide book the entire way. My GPS was a savior. The markings are just to infrequent unless you have a really good grasp for distance.
