Is there any mail drop locations between these two places that isnt 7 or more miles off the trail? Rainbow Springs is closed or will be closed by May correct? Thanks!

The Blueberry Patch is the only place I can think of that’s under 7 miles and MAY hold a package for you, you’d just have to call and ask them. If not, then it’s pretty easy to catch a ride into Hiawassee, GA from Dick’s Creek Gap. The other place would be trying to catch a ride at Winding Stair Gap to Franklin, NC but with it being a major highway, it’s sometimes tough to get a ride.

The hitch into Haiwassee is pretty easy, the local people are friendly and very used to hikers (please remember to always thank them for the hospitality too). There is a USPS there, and supermarkets for resupply, drug store, fast food, etc.

I’m almost positive Blueberry Patch is closed in late april for the season. I agree with the above, Hiawassee isn’t a bad hitch, there is a large grocery store there.
