Congrats krudmeister! Give us a few details here. Start and finish dates. Assisted or unassisted. Water and/or food caching. Longest day. Persoanlly I’m a tortoise but in real life slow and steady does not win the race…fast and steady always wins.

Hey bowlegs just follow the links in my post above…Start and finish dates are there, no water or food caching involved. 56 mile day out of the gate was the longest. Border of Sonora to Patagonia, AZ.
By the way I don’t consider myself better than other hikers. I believe all walking is worth while as long as the person doing the walking is enjoying/ getting something out of their walking.
It was cool to come back to the AZT after my 2007 thru hike. In 2007 I managed to raise over 900$ for land acquisition purposes along the trail. I never was able to get a clear idea of what happened to the funds I raised, but my heart was in the right place. It is cool to see how much further along the trail is now than it was back then. If you have any q’s about the AZT give me a shout through FSTPKR or my email me through this thread.
Thanks for the congrats too! KRUD

Congratulations. I am a slow-packer who has completed about half of the AZT so far, but I enjoyed reading most of your journal. When you described what you were doing and getting from your hike it was great. When you obsessed about another hiker, I had to skip ahead.
Turtle Walking
Got a vid up over at FSTPKR of the trip here:
