Anyone know if the guidebook, databook, or map book is being updated this year? I’m planning on hiking the trail starting in mid August and am starting to prepare.

I recently finished final details on a new Mapbook and it is in the proofing process. It should be available to purchase in 2-3 weeks and is totally current. CT Guidebook Version 8 is a complete re-write and is undergoing revision at this time. That one takes some time between completion and publication, so you may or may not be able to get it by then. Databook 4th edition was printed last year, so it’s good to go this year except for some changes around Mt Massive and Twin Lakes. Mt Massive you won’t even notice but new route leading to Twin Lakes is really nice - don’t miss it. It’s all in the new Mapbook.

Well, good news. Sorta. I called the Colorado Trail Store a few weeks ago and was assured NONE of the maps & guidebooks were to be updated this year, so I bought the set. Any other significant changes from last year’s map book? Guess I need to do a bit of research.

I’ve been keeping my eyes open for the new map book, any idea of when it will arrive?

For those of you who have an earlier version of the Colorado Trail Mapbook and don’t feel inclined to get the new one, there are maps at:

These cover changes in the Twin Lakes Region, the Clear Creek bridge, and Cataract Ridge. Segments 10, 11, 12, 23, and 24.
