Isn’t there already a shuttle in Rutland, VT? He carted me up and down the Long Trail back a few years ago…all I did was cover his gas. Not a money making operation by far…just a hiker helping hikers.

Just sayin;)

Kineo, i know what you are saying but in some instances and for some people it is nice to have a business that you can count on do the shuttling. Its great to know that their are hikers helping hikers out there but you can’t rely or take advantage of their good nature when you are planning a hike well in advance.

You can rest assured that doing a shuttle service will not make anybody huge amounts of income considering the wear/tear/gas, etc., and what you’re “paying” for is peace of mind that someone will be there reliably. Bad Influence is a hiker helping hikers, but if you plan on helping more hikers than just a few of your friends, you have to get organized about it or it’s just chaos. Logistics are insane with this stuff, and I found it to be chaotic when just trying to get my “real world” obligations to fit in with the “hiking world” lifestyle when helping a few friends out w/shuttling. Just my thoughts anyway.

I totally agree…invaluable for planning trips. A guy in Monson does the same thing
