I’m an AT section hiker and ecologist. Tell me more about your organization. Do you do hikes on other parts of the AT?

Best regards,
Jack Donohue

  • Lake Wallkill Rd. will change since there is no parking at this access area. I’ll update this later with the hike

We’d still love to have more of you join us - especially next Saturday. Just let us know and we’ll send you the meeting

Jack,

Sorry it took so long to post a reply to your questions. We’ve been unable to post for some reason. Has anyone else had

the same problem?

We are just AT hikers that enjoy hiking with other people - no organization. We do host the AT Parking website:

http://appalachiantrail.rohland.org. We have an “about us” page linked from the main page if you would like to know more

about us. In a nutshell we are slackpackers. We’ve hiked all of the PA AT, most NJ, some MD, WV and VA.

The weather is looking good for both hikes this weekend (3/29-30) so it looks like a go for both of them. If you are interested in joining us for either hike, make sure you contact us BEFORE noon on Friday, March 28th. After that time I will be unable to send you meeting times and places.

Saturday’s hike we have 5 definite and 1 tentative - ages from 20’s - 50’s.

Sunday’s hike we have 3 definite and 1 tentative.

You’ll find some pictures of our March 29th hike here: rohland.homedns.org/at/at_NJsection5/ATPictures.aspx at tabs mm 0.0 to 8.8.

Stanley hasn’t written his AT story for the kids yet but here are his pictures of this hike: rohland.homedns.org/at/FlatStanley/NewJersey/NJ6Section5/6_NJ.asp. Hopefully as soon as he gets caught up with the homework he’ll have his trail report out there.

NOTE: I’m having problems posting with weblinks so I took off the beginning (htt…) on each of the links above.
