If not doing as thru hike on the PCT but covering the portion that contains the JMT only, is there “best” time of year weather wise and bug wise?
Thanks

Late August, early September is good. Hot days, fairly warm nights, colder higher up. Check out the JMT forum board on this site, it’s been discussed there I think.

I agree, I started in early August though, which was great also. No bugs, not too cold at night, no thunder storms.
Have fun!
