Northern Pacific Crest Trail Conditions

I had planned to start hiking next week at Crater Lake National Park and make my way towards Washington, but I just heard from some friends who are hiking farther north near Eugene that the PCT’s still covered in snow, and they suggested that I postpone my trip. Does anyone know about the trail conditions in southern Oregon? I know there’s still a lot of snow on the ground at Crater Lake, but I’m wondering about the overall Pacific Trail and whether or not it’s navigable.

There is still a goodly amount of snow up here in WEashington. It’s melting nicely & the trail should be pretty clear bymid July (depending on altitude and your tollerance for sno).

Google maps has topo and an option to check out Snow Sensors that will tell you snow depth in inches. I am planning to start from manning park June 1 2010
