I bought a Raku for winter use. Great piece of gear. Plan ahead when ordering, though. Delivery can take a while because they are made to order.

I bought one two or three years ago and have been very happy with it. I used it on my JMT hike in 2004 and was toasty every night. Options I chose were the epic fabric on the outside & 2 oz. overfill. The quality is top notch, and the service was fine. I also ordered the balaclava last year. I’m clausterphobic so the quilt in the best option for me.

Hope this helps.

i bought a backcountry blanket before my through-hike attempt several years ago. I also got the Epic fabric and a 4 oz overfill. I slept on closed cell pads (in shelters, on the ground and in my hammock), literally using it as a blanket and it was toasty. I loved it. They were very responsive to my needs. If you want to use it this year, though, you better order it soon. They took about a month to get it to me.

I got the Back Country Blanket from them. I’m a warm sleeper, but got 2 oz. overfill and 4" more width…I just can’t stand (lie in) mummy bags. Also got the really light fabric. Love it! Stuffs about the size of a loaf of bread or keep it loose in the bottom of your pack. I’m to the point where I’m happier paying a little more to get just what I want/need rather than keep having to upgrade or replace things. YMMV.

I found the people out there exceedingly helpful when I was deciding options. Disco '04 is right as you’re probably getting into their busy season. :tongue

Oh, I always use a silk travel sheet (which I opened more down the side) with my bags to keep them clean.
