Ollalie Lake Resupply

I just purchased the Data Book from the PCTA - “6th printing February 2010” that shows Ollalie as a resupply point. Last I read here was that they were no longer accepting packages - anyone know current status?

Just skip it and go to Timberline–hitch down the hill to the convince store and pick up two days of food to get to Cascade Locks. The section of the trail up to Ollalie allows you to cruise.

I can confirm, for two years running now, Ollalie lake is CLOSED. I have personally witnessed its close-edness. It’s shut, out of business, done, not accepting packages and not offering any store access. An exemplary example of the very definition of closed.

I can’t believe it’s been 2+ years since it closed and there’s still info out there about it being a resupply point! pull it together, databook!

I’d recommend using big lake youth camp and then going to timberline, that’s about 100 miles which is a pretty easily 3.5 days in Oregon, not tons of food to carry. Send a box to timberline from ashland or wherever, or even just hitch down to government camp and buy for the 1.5 or 2 days it takes to get to Cascade Locks. The box fee at timberline is only like $2 and you’re going to get the buffet anyway!

I just checked their website (http://www.olallielakeresort.com/generalinformation.htm), and they say: “PCT and thru Hiker Packages: For the 2010 summer season we will not accepting drop packages.” (quoted exactly, including bad grammar;). Yep, Big Lake Youth Camp & then Gov’t Camp or Timberline will be our options.
