Options fromWolf Creek Pass

Hi folks

We are doing a CDT section from Grand Lake to Wolf creek pass this year departing GL on 7/27 and expecting to hit Wolf Creek Pass on Labor day 9/1. We need to get back to Denver for a 9/4 am flight. I didn’t see any regular transportation out of Pagosa Springs (no dirty dog, no one way car rentals) to Denver but found rental car options and greyhound in Durango.

Question: Does anyone know of reliable shuttles from Wolf Creek pass or Pagosa Springs into Durango? Are there any other alternatives to get to Denver from Pagosa Springs?

Thanks so much! I’m also going to post this on the CT Forum.

That is thumbs-out terrain as far as I know. Lot’s of tourists passing through though, you could approach some friendly looking folks in downtown Pagosa Springs. I have had a few successful hitches from Pagosa Springs to Silverton. Pagosa Springs to Denver would be quite a bit more daunting.

If you can get to Alamosa from Wolf Creek Pass, Greyhound does stop once per day in the p.m. and goes back to Denver. Or check to see if they stop in Durango.

I am doing a CDT section Aug until early Sept as well from Spring Creek Pass to Chama, possible a bit longer. May make my way back to Alamosa to get the bus to Denver. It’s tough finding shuttles in that area. I’m still working on getting down to Lake City from Denver when I arrive.

It’s like a $100 to fly from Durango to Denver and would probably be real fast. Other wise Colorado is the best hitch hiking state ever
