I use a 60 and really like it, especially the waist belt and how you cinch it down (from outside in, rather than from the inside out!). Makes much more sense than most belts!! Quality of construction seems good too, but I’ve only used mine for maybe 10 trail nights . . . certainly no quality certification yet!! So far so good!

of using the Osprey 60 too, but still would like to try one on and walk around the block a few times, so any input would help me too:-)

An aether 90 is probably entirely too large for a thru hike. Stick with an aether 60 @ about 3800 cu inches. The hood is removable if it is not needed and the package is around 3-3.5 lbs.

I bought a Luna 60 @ Trail Days and took it from Hot Springs to Katahdin last year. I agree with the waistbelt comment above, makes SO much more sense from a leverage standpoint. I am very petite woman, so I was able to size this pack to fit me all around, a first! It was a tight to load, I struggled to pack this pack efficiently, it sure make you use every nook and cranny. I can’t even imagine doing w/o my lid.
As for the Aether model, I saw 3 different guys on the trail last year who had problems with the stays poking through the top. My belief is they were carrying too much weight for this pack, that’s why I opted for the Luna over the Aether. I’m realistic enough to know that I would be carrying 30 pounds of gear. I don’t know the difference in the suspension between the Aethers and Lunas, but somewhere they’ve shaved 2 pounds.
I was sold a Small waistbelt in Damascus, and really should have had an XS, my husband called Damascus Dave after meeting me in Kent CT where the outfitter didn’t have an XS and he (Dave) arranged to have an XS belt drop shipped from Osprey to my next maildrop. I sent my S belt back to Damascus, no fee. It wasn’t that I had “shrunk” - I am pretty small to start with and questioned the sizing on the belt all along. What a huge difference when I was finally, for the first time in my life, carrying the weight on the sides, on my hips. I hope to have this pack for a long time.
