Osprey Atmos - Appalachian Trail

So recently I’ve been researching packs for something to use for day hikes and light overnighters. I’ve narrowed down my selection between the Osprey Atmos 35 and the 50, but I’m still not sure which to go with. I’m leaning towards the 35 for right now. I’m thinking at most I’d pack my warm weather sleeping bag, my thermarest (which can strap on the outside), food, 2 liter water bladder, my water filter, and jetboil. I don’t imagine I’d need much else except maybe a tarp if it rained. I think I could get all that in the 35 without trouble, but I dunno. The 35 would probably not be sufficient in colder weather, but I have an Arc’teryx Bora 80 I can use in those cases. I guess the question is would I really lose much by going with the 50?

Hey, i have both those packs. Awesome !! YOu will love either one. I think for what you described, you can get by with the 35. No doubt about it.

HOwever, if you go with the 50, i don’t think you sacrifice much. Weight is about the same… The 50 has a few more bells and whistles but still weighs in at 3 lbs.

Can you guys tell me the difference between Atmos 65 and Aether 60? They seem to have the same capacity in cubic inches, but the Atmost 65 has a flimsier belt???

Now if I added in an MSR Hubba tent, would I still be able to get by with the 35?
