As of this week, Blue Ridge Outdoors is closed for good. If you’re coming into town from Pearisburg because you need an outfitter, you’ll have to go to Backcountry Ski & Sports in Blacksburg or Dick’s Sporting Goods in Christiansburg.

Blacksburger here. I’m really sorry to hear about Blue Ridge Outdoors. Backcountry is where I got most of my (original :)) gear for my '03 AT hike and I like 'em, they’re out by the hospital on the far south end of town. Dick’s just opened at the New River Valley Mall last fall and they didn’t carry any hiking gear at that time.
