We're vacationing in south central PA near the AT in mid-August and want to do some trail magic, maybe near Pine Grove Furnace SP. Do you think there will be any through hikers coming through that time of year? The NOBOs and flipfloppers will probably be long gone, but I'm hoping some SOBOs might be on the trail then.

Yes, you get some thru hikers both South and North Bounders and there are plenty of thru's who have opted to start and finish at random points. Setting up in a gap might be best
