Pacific Crest Pub and Hostel

I was on my way to Utah to do some hiking and popped into Cascade Locks for a Walking Man IPA at my favorite pub in the PCT corridor, Salmon Row in Cascade Locks. Well, it is gone now and replaced by the Pacific Crest Pub and Hostel. The beer menu is the same, but the food is expanded and, I think, better. They are doing a lot of construction and are hoping to open the hostel part of the operation by the end of the summer, so some PCT hikers may have a cheap option for lodging in Cascade Locks.

I went through twice (going and coming) and asked different people there if there was a hiker connection with the PCT, but both people told me no. The new owners are apparently fans of the PCT but haven’t hiked it.

Have you been to the Walking Man Brewery in Stevenson? Great beers and food, and you can try the sampler of all their tap beers. Right across from the PO, just another reason to do the roadwalk.

I drove by the PCT Pub and Hostel a couple times earlier this month when I was out there visiting. Looks like a nice place but never went in. Sure it’ll be a hit with the hikers…

I stopped at the PCT Pub and Hostel last year. They had some good beers on tap, decent pizza, and were very friendly, albeit the waitstaff was a bit slow. The owner was nice enough to hold our packs while we did an afternoon slackpack on the AWESOME roadwalk to Panther Creek. The hostel part wasn’t open, and the owner said it will probably be ready for this year’s hikers.
