Parking for Collegiate Loop

I will be hiking the Collegiate Loop in July 2015. The plan is to start at Twin Lakes and hike the 160 loop. The hike may take 10 to 14 days, depending on how much time I enjoy the sights and sounds. It looks like a trail head parking lot is located south of the dam on Twin Lakes. Does any one have suggestions for parking? Where is the best place to park and are shuttles available?

The Twin Lakes parking you mention is probably A-OK, it’s a large gravel lot that serves trail and lake users without too much traffic. Also worth considering is parking at Mt Princeton Hot Springs and soaking twice, at both the beginning and end of your 160-mile hike (as opposed to once, as you hike through). There’s no regular shuttle services that I’m aware of, though the CTF will provide a list of shuttle possibilities if you email them. Their email address is on their website, ColoradoTrail.org
