Parking in Durango?

Hello,

My wife and I are planning on hiking the CT this summer. We are moving from California to Missouri, so Colorado will be the halfway point. We are looking to start right around June 20th or so, and we are thinking about parking our car in Durango and then probably taking the Greyhound to Denver to start the trail.

Does anyone know of anyplace in Durango where we could stash our car for 5 weeks? If there aren’t any good places to do this, is anybody willing to let us park our car somewhere on your lot/yard for about $75 (sorry, we are young teachers!).

Are there any better solutions out there (for an out of stater who will be bringing a car) than what we are planning? Let me know. Thanks!

If you don’t find something better contact me. A number of hikers have left their cars on the street close to my house without issues. The city does occasionally tow cars left like that so if you wish to do so you would need to leave the keys with us so someone can move it in the unlikely event that it got tagged for removal.
