Parking in Hot Springs

I am planning a short section hike around Hot Springs in late March or early April. Having never been to Hot Springs, I was wondering where might be a decent place to park a vehicle for a few days.

Furthermore, if anyone could recommend a reliable person or business that offers shuttles, I would be greatly appreciative.

I’ve parked right uptown across from the Police Station. What could be safer?

I have parked in two different locations for several days in Hot Springs. Once over by the trail head by the Jesuit House only 10 yards from the trail. It is a little gravel area, no problems parking there. As you come down Bluff Mountain you will hike into the place. Another time I parked by the railroad tracks and had no problems there. I parked the car for about 3 days. I used a shuttle I found at Paddler’s Pub, Wild Bill was his name. Bluff Mountain Outfitters is also a reliable place to get shuttles. I would suggest getting a shuttle over to I-40, Davenport and hiking back into Hot Springs. A very beautiful hike, I compare it to hiking in the Smokeys without the crowds.

If you’re asking about parking, then you’re probably like me and I don’t like to take chances on where I park. Both times in Hot Springs, in 2007, I have parked at the motel in town. I asked for permission inside and they were very nice. When I got back, I also gave them $20 for watching over my truck for me though they didn’t ask for anything. I left my truck there 6 days one time and 4 days the next time. I hiked to Standing Bear Farm and got a ride from them back to Hot Springs for $60.
