I am visiting Hemet, CA on a business trip. I have most of Friday available and would like to day hike on the PCT. Any suggestions? Looking to do no more than 10± miles. I have a car.

Drive up to Idyllwild (very close to Hemet) and hike up Devil’s Slide to Saddle Junction. Hike north on the PCT as far as you wish and return the same way. You will have to purchase a five dollar Adventure Pass parking permit to park at the Humber Park trailhead, a couple of miles from the town center. There is a Forest Service station in town where you can get maps, permits and info.
